Online Ante League Winter 2022

Ok, here we go, this winter will be the Online Ante League for Winter 2022.

Register Here: https://forms.gle/TXMGa89NAoNFJgrm6

Dates 30 January to 28 February 2022, 6 Rounds over 4 weeks.

Deck Construction

Constructed decks must contain a minimum of 60 cards (no maximum deck size; however, you must be able to shuffle your deck with no assistance). If a player wishes to use a sideboard, it can contain up to 15 cards. With the exception of basic land cards (Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, Forest), a player’s combined deck and sideboard may not contain more than 4 of any individual card, counted by its English card title equivalent, except copies of a card that are won via ante.

For example: If your deck has 4 kird ape and you win a 5th copy, you may add that 5th copy to your deck.

If a player runs out of sideboard cards and falls below the minimum 60 card deck, that player may take any card from their collection that would be legal in the format and add it to their deck to reach the 60-card minimum.

For example: if a player has 59 cards after a match, that player can add a basic land or another legal card such as Feldon’s Cane to their deck. They may not add both cards because that would take them over 60 and they may not add a card that is not legal such as Force of Will or some other new border bullshit.

Additional Sets and Cards Allowed (ie. REPRINTS)(stolen from Eternal Central)

All non-foil cards from the sets above, that were reprinted IN ANY LANGUAGE with the original frame and original art. So for example, a Chronicles City of Brass, Fifth Edition Wrath of God, Time Spiral Psionic Blast, and Collector’s Edition Mox Ruby would all be legal (original frame + original art), while an Ice Age Swords to Plowshares or Arena 1996 Counterspell would not be legal (different art). The misprinted Revised Serendib Efreet (with Ifh-Biff Efreet’s art, and green border) is of course allowed, because it was printed in one of the original sets in 1994 (Revised). We always encourage you to seek out the oldest and coolest versions of cards you can find, but these can serve as your de facto substitutes for the cards printed in 93-94. Absolutely no proxies and fake cards allowed (expect for proxies of cards you are waiting for from your opponent). Finally, the following promotional cards from 1994 are also legal: Arena, Sewers of Estark, and Nalathni Dragon.

The following cards are banned or restricted:

NONE, this league will not have a banned or restricted list.

Example: You can play 4 copies of Contract from Below in your deck, you can also play for copies of Mox Jet in your deck.  WARNING: This is an Ante League, any cards lost/won cards is a permanent change in ownership.

Ante Rules

Both players ante one card at the start of every game by placing the top card of their deck facedown in the ante zone after shuffle/cut, prior to drawing their hand. The anted card is placed in the Ante Zone. If a player chooses to mulligan, they leave the anted card in the Ante Zone.

A few cards have the text “Remove [this card] from your deck before playing if you’re not playing for ante.” These are the only cards that can add or remove cards from the ante zone or change a card’s owner.

To ante an object is to put that object into the ante zone from whichever zone it’s currently in. The owner of an object is the only person who can ante that object.

If by chance a player loses a card they also previously won as ante, they may illustrate it an additional time and give it to their opponent.

If by chance a player loses a card they also previously won as ante, they may illustrate it an additional time and give it to their opponent.

Online Ante

Online Ante is the same as in person ante, mail any lost cards to your opponent.  Proxy substitutes can be used until you receive the card in the mail from your opponent.

Example: You win a Kird Ape from your opponent, if you play another match before you receive the Kird ape in the mail, you may use a proxy until it arrives.
